Dr. Ferjenel "Ferj" Gonzales Biron, Elem. ’77, HS ’81, was the guest speaker during the official opening ceremony of the U-Day 2000 on September 1, 2000 8:30 AM at the Half Moon Drive.

The opening ceremony was sponsored by the CPUR lead by its president Jonan Castillon.

In another U-day event, "Ferj", as he is fondly called, was invited by Mr. Richard Plana, In-Charge of the Mr. & Ms. CPU Committee, as the chairman of the board of judges for the search for Mr. & Ms. CPU 2000 held last September 2, 2000, 6PM at the Rose Memorial Auditorium.

Dr. Biron was elected as the No. 1 nominee (tie with Dr. Noel Nequin) to represent the Alumni Association to the CPU Corporation during the Alumni Homecoming 2000 Luncheon at the Covered Court earlier that day.

Dr. Ferj Biron, presently, is the Founder of the Ferj’s Pharmacy Drugstore Chain in Iloilo City; President and CEO of Phil Pharmawealth, Inc., the biggest trading house of injectable pharmaceutical products in the Philippines; Vice-President of the Filipino Drug Association, and; the Chairman and CEO of Pharmawealth Laboratories, Inc., in San Pablo City, the first and largest Filipino Multi-Facility injectible plant in the Philippines.

He was a Millenial Sponsor of the Alumni Homecoming 2000, donated P10,000 to the Mr. & Mrs. CPU P20T worth of medical for the CPU medical clinic.

He graduated from the CPU Elementary and HS, with honors, in 1977 and 1981, respectively; from the WVSU with the degrees of Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences, Magna Cum Laude in 1985 and Doctor of Medicine in 1989; and from the Asian Institute of Management (AIM) of the courses Manufacturing Management and Finance for Senior Executives, in 1999.

It may be recalled that during his college days, Dr. Biron was the president of the WVSU, College of Arts & Sciences Student Council in 1984 and 1985; First Placer, WVSU Oratorical Contest in 1984; Second Placer, Regional VI Oratorical Contest of the same year.

Ferj is the son of Hernan Dusaban Biron and Diana Gonzales Biron, retired government employees/businessmen. He is married to Jessica Candace S. Quan. They are blessed with three kids: Bryant Paul, 8; Braeden John, 6 and Brandt Luke, 2.
