"Lightning" struck open CPU
Garden of Lights 2000 Atty. Perfecto "Jun" Yasay, former SEC chairman, who is called by his staunch supporters as "Ang Kidlat ng Bayan" officially opened the "Garden of Lights" in the evening December 1, 2000, at the University Church. Like the past two years, the CPU Alumni Promenade-Concert Park, which has been a favorite rendezvous site for alumni, students, the community and even people from nearby towns and provinces, was again transformed into a carnival of glittering multi-colored lights to provide an ambiance of the Christmas season for the entire CPU community. CPU glittered with hundreds of colorful lights, nativity scenes, lighted trees and various figurines depicting Christmas-related stories. But more than the past, life-size dinosaurs were placed inside the enclosed Alumni Garden. page 22
