Alumnus Perfecto Yasay was the guest of honor during the official switching-on ceremony that also highlighted the induction of the newly elected CPU Alumni Association officers.

Led by its president, Dr. Glenn A.M. Catedral, the other association officers and members of the board of directors who were inducted by Atty. Yasay were Dr. Rolando Padilla, Vice-President; Mrs. Adela Sumindol-Cerdana, Secretary; Mr. Ben Jimena, Treasurer; Mr. Diosdado Aspa, Auditor; Atty. Joshua Alim, Dr. Renato Alba, Dir. Lily Ann Rico-Baldago, Atty. Von Lovel Bedona, Atty. Rodolfo Cabado, Judge Edgardo Catilo, Mr. Lee Chuan, Ms. Neonita Gobuyan, Atty. Alejandro Somo, Vice-Gov. Demy Sonza, and Mr. Tommy Que. The coopted members are Mr. Diosdado Aspa and Dr. Helmar Aguilar.

The regional representatives are: Luzon-Mr. Noel Azarcon, Engr. Albert Dosayla, Gen. Elvegia Mendoza; Mindanao-Dr. Pedro Gape; America and Canada-Engr. Lejo Brana, Atty. Fulgencio Duremdes, Dr. Noel Nequin; Australia and other countries-Mr. Mauro Somodio.

Serving, as ex-officio members are Dr. Juanito Acanto, University President; Prof. Ricardo Patricio, Director for Planning and Development; Mr. Jason Pagunsan, Alumni Liaison Officer.

Every night thereafter, there were Christmas carol singing contest for fun and prizes! Many children and young people joined the contests. The grand prize winners received P3,000.00 – 1st Prize, P2,000.00 – 2nd Prize and P1,000.00 – 3rd Prize and other consolation prizes during the grand finals last December 23, 2000.
