CPU swimmers bag championship crown The CPU-Iloilo Prisaa Swimming Team (boys secondary) won the championship game by grabbing 8 golds, 9 silvers and 1 bronze from the different events Jan Enojas of 4-E won 3 silvers on 100m Freestyle, 200m Breaststroke and on the 4x100m Medley Relay and a gold on the 4x50m Freestyle. TJ Suarez of 2-C won 2 golds on 4x100m Free Relay and 4x50m Free Relay, 2 silvers on 100m Backstroke and 200m Free Style and a bronze on 200m Backstroke. QP Suarez of 1-A won a gold on 4x50m Free Relay and 3 silvers on 200m Breaststroke, 100m Butterfly Stroke and 200m Butterfly Stroke. The Iloilo Prisaa Team is a combination of the best swimmers from different private school teams in the city including that of CPU. CPUDHS swimmers team coach and trainer is Mr. James Peter Trasporto.
CPU Rotaract celebrates 1st
anniversary The CPU Rotaractors celebrated their 1st year anniversary with an Anniversay and Acquaintance Party at the Rotary Park, Iloilo City on 30th of July 2000. Rotarians and Rotaractors shared the afternoon with fun and laughter. The day before, the Rotaractors joined the launching of the "Clean the Iloilo River" Project of the Rotary Club of Iloilo, District 3850 with a Baroto Race, Poster Making Contest and Tree Planting Activity in various times and places in the city. After assisting the Rotarians in the day’s activity, the CPU Rotaractors went to Purok Masinadyahon Housing Project, Brgy. Balabag, Pavia, Iloilo, the relocation site where the squatter’s area in Brgy. Laguda, Lapaz was relocated to assist the Department of Health in the Dental and Medical Service program.

Franklinians hold "Paskua
2000"
On December 8, 2000, the Franklinians held its "Paskua 2000" which was highlighted by the Room Beautification, Creative Carolling, Lipsynch and Mr. Santa-Franklinian Contests at the Franklin Hall. The event was attended by Prof. Nympha Chan-San Luis, Chair, University Dorm Committee; Rev. Dr. Nathaniel M. Fabula, Vice-President for Academic Affairs; Prof. Perla Deocampo, Vice-President for Finance; Dr. Limuel Equina, OIC, College of Theology; Miss Rea Angelica Faulan, R.E. Dept. Faculty; and Miss Josie Carpen, B.S. ComSci. Dept. and Mrs. Esther Teves, Secretary, College of Theology. The Franklinians, being one of the recognized organizations in the campus, has been doing its best to achieve its vision as they do their regular activities for this school year namely: Acquaintance, Induction & Fellowship Night, the Franklinians Paskua, Sportsfest, and also as they get involve actively in the university programs and activities. They have become one family with Mr. Dandino Sanico, their proctor together with his wife, Rose and his son, DR who are staying with them at the Franklin Hall Dormitory. "The Franklinians" was issued a certificate of recognition by the Student Organization Committee (SOC) as a CPU-recognized organization last August 26, 1999. Since then, they were challenged and driven more towards achieving their vision which is to build a stronger brotherhood & fellowship and to provide a holistc development of student-residents while staying at the dormitory and studying at CPU at the same time.
CPU Cabatuananon officers inducted The CPU Cabatuananon officers were inducted to office on a rainy August 19, 2000 afternoon at the Cabatuan Recreational Hall. The event was the 1st Induction of Officers and Acquaintance Party of the group composed of about 88 CPU students from Cabatuan. Alumnus Rex Velarde (not related to Jose Velarde) gave the inspirational talk. The officers inducted by the CPU Alumni Liaison Officer were: Elmer Castante, President; Marian Psyche Arcao, Vice-President; Marnily Faith Calimlim, Secretary; Allen John Boteja, Asst. Secretary; Gilbert Amoroso, Treasurer; Arianne Alegria, Asst. Treasurer; Claire Sablon, Auditor; Cassandra Tejad and Ma. Aura Monticado, Bus. Managers; Michael Philip Lim and Carmie Tejereso, PRO; Engr. Mary Earl Grio, Adviser. The group has also coordinators in the colleges. Jeva Alegria, Nobe Moneva, Braddy Racho and Cheryl Ahumada for Commerce; Joana Katrina Alegria and Alfonso Lindong for Engineering; Rey Orrica for Nursing; Cathy Reyes for Education and Golden Boteja for Arts & Sciences. Prof. Ricardo Patricio, Director for Planning & Development gave words of encouragement to the newly inducted officers.
