Ms. Grace Savella, President of the CPU Rank and File Labor Union was among the six-member delegation from the Federation of Free Workers (FFW) who went to China for a ten-day visit in October. The FFW group was invited by the All-China Federations of Trade Unions to have an exchange opinions on common labor issues and to boost further the friendly and cooperative relations between the Chinese and Filipino labor organizations. The other members of the visiting team were former Congresman Ramon Jabar, FFW National President; Mr. Ernesto Verceles, President of the University of the East Employees Union; Mr. Jose Cayobit, President of the A. Soriano Corp. Employees Union; and Ms. Teresa Montejo of the Interphil Laboratories Employees’ Union. ![]() Dean Enrique S. Altis attended the Executive Committee Conference of the Association of Colleges of Agriculture in the Philippines (ACAP) on December 2-3, 1999. The conference was held at Aklan State College of Agriculture, Banga, Aklan. Among the salient decisions made during the activity were: adoption of an Agrarian Reform Community by the ACAP member schools; putting-up of a scholarship program; and revision of ACAP Farm Management Workbook. The participants also came up with the following plans for the Association: fund-raising program, agribusiness seminar-workshop, building-up of sustainable resource materials for instruction, research and extension services. |
