![]() Message It is my distinct pleasure to greet and congratulate the Central Philippine University. For 94 years, the Central Philippine University has been actively providing quality education in the Christian spirit. As you celebrate your school anniversary with the auspicious theme, “Enriching Exemplary Christian Education for Life in the New Millennium,” I hope that you will be reminded of inherent Filipino values, such as faith in God, respect for elders, and service to the community. These are the same values that will strengthen your sense of responsibility. The opportunities that abound in the 21st century should encourage and inspire you to improve the quality of your lives and aim for prosperity that will contribute to the country’s development. I therefore call upon you not to lose sight of the momentum we have gained in recent years. In all your future endeavors, I wish you all the best. Let us strengthen our sense of patriotism and faith in the Filipino, take pride in our rich culture and heritage, and continue our active participation in bringing the Philippines to its rightful place in the family of nations—progressive, proud and free. Good luck and more power.
