Concordia and CPU studes chat via E-mail

Advancement in communi-cation technology has brought excitement to CPU students. Some junior and senior nutrition and dietetics students received messages through the E-mail from their counterpart at Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesotta, USA. The messages, individually sent to CPU BSND students, explained the US government’s nutrition program, food pyramid, malnutrition problems among the American people and the students’ personal information.

The linkages of CPU and Corcodia students is the idea of Dr. Betty Larsen, clinical nutrition professor at Concordia College. It will be recalled that Dr. Larson visited CPU in March 1998 and met with CPU nutrition students. The exchange of notes among students of different countries gives them a sense of globalization. It is hoped that the connection between the students will lead them to develop a broader perspective of nutrition at the international level.
