Dear Centralians and Friends,

Greetings from the campus!

Central Philippine University and Central Philippine University Alumni Association Inc. will once again hold the university's Christmas highlight dubbed as the  "2008 Festival of Lights and Music at Central" on December 6, 2008-January 6, 2009. To officially open the celebration, there will be an Induction of the CPUAAI Officers and Board of Trustees for AY 2009 and Switching On of Christmas Lights on December 6, 2008, 7:00 pm at the CPU Alumni Promenade Concert Park.

On December 7, 2008 will be the Opening and First Elimination Night of the "Kantahan sa CPU." This is a Christmas Videoke contest on three categories: Child, Teen, and Adult. The contest will run from December 7-20, 2008. There will be 10 Elimination Nights scheduled on December 7-11 and December 13-17. The Semi-Final Nights will be on December 12 and 18, 2008 and the Grand Finals will be on December 20, 2008 where big prizes are at stake :

1st Prize  - P 6, 000.00                      
2nd Prize - P 4, 000.00       
3rd Prize - P 2, 000.00

Teen Category   
1st Prize - P 7, 000.00                       
2nd Prize - P 5, 000.00       
3rd Prize - P 3, 000.00

Adult Category   
1st Prize - P 10, 000.00                       
2nd Prize - P 7, 000.00       
3rd Prize - P 5,000.00

Also part of the celebration is a special night sponsored by the CPU Republic scheduled on December 19, 2008. For those interested to join the Kantahan sa CPU, you may call or visit the CPU Alumni Affairs Office, Tel. No.: 329-1971 local 1033; 329-2904, look for Tina.

Auditions will be on November 17-28, 2008, 4:00-6:00 pm at the Alumni Affairs Office. The following are encouraged to join in the Adult Category: cooks, waiter/waitresses, fast food crew, security guards/tanods/traffic enforcers, janitors/janitress, drivers/vendors, bakers, beauticians, health providers, street sweepers/garbage collectors, beauty titlist, half pinoys, and house hold helpers.
